what'd did you guys think about kanye west's runaway film?



basically, i thought it was groundbreakingly amazing. it was beautiful and unique in every way- musically, stylistically, symbolically. i can't stop recommending it to people, which is why i must blog about it!.
i'm working on a twelve-part art project right now, and i after i watched this i was so inspired to create pieces based on the film. seriously, every frame of this movie could be printed, framed, and put in your house. so, i decided to get some screen shots:


the colors in the movie were so vibrant, one of my favorite things about it.

from kanye's suits to selita's make up, i loved the styling.

the music perfectly fit every part of the story.

i loved seeing 'ye smile!

"first rule in this world baby, don't pay attention to anything you see in the news."

i loved the mixture of the rough (the walls, floors) and immaculate(the people, table) in this scene.

"let's have a toast for the assholes, every one of 'em that i know."

when i own my own house, imma do a treatment to my walls to make em look like that.

"i ordered the jerk, she said 'you are what you eat'... i always loved the sense of humor, but tonight you shoulda seen how quiet the room was."

this was probably one of the first times i've seen it kanye west as a weak human being with romantic emotions! i loved it!

and at this moment, i wished i was selita ebanks.

if you haven't seen it yet, watch it! i think a lot of artists are going to start making short films like this... i mean, it worked for michael jackson, and now kanye! i know MJ saw this from where ever he's at and he smiled. michael set the bar high for music videos in the twentieth century, and with this video, kanye west set the bar veryyy high for music videos in the twenty-first century. long story short, the music video game is untouchable after this one.
